As an adult, I feel like it is my responsibility to keep up with the world news. Sometimes however, I find myself feeling disoriented, depressed, and helpless when I hear about all of the chaos and violence that abounds.
My husband shared this meditation with me the other day. I thought it was really profound and worth sharing. Meditating on it brings a sense of peace. I am going to use it as a daily prayer for the world during this holiday season. Reflecting upon it has made me feel less helpless.
I may not be able to stop the violence and chaos in our world but I can put forth a positive intention. I hope you will join me as I meditate on this prayer.
Metta
May this body be at ease.
May this heart be open.
May this mind be boundless.
May this being awaken.
May your body be at ease.
May your heart be open.
May your mind be boundless.
May you awaken.
May our bodies be at ease.
May our hearts be open.
May our minds be boundless.
May we awaken together.
May all beings be at ease.
May all hearts be open.
May all minds be boundless.
May we all awaken together.
