Couple Intensives: A Way to Strengthen Your Bond and Restore Your Connection

Picture
In a world of business and activity we very seldom get to take time to focus on our most important relationships. Intensives, as well as workshops, are a way to take a break from all the activity and distracting noise and focus on our relationship with the intent of repairing, nurturing, and strengthening it.

The goal of an intensive is to begin to create and establish a secure attachment system for the couple. Helping the couple tune in to self and to the other in a way that calms the nervous system and teaches them how to truly be there for each other is the aim.

After having done a Hold Me Tight Workshop, I (Evelyn) got pretty excited. Working with several couples over a weekend and seeing them benefit so quickly from the Emotionally Focused Therapy concepts I usually use in therapy inspired me to think about and offer day long intensive therapy (or other possible combinations) for individual couple partners. It is the best of both worlds combining the Hold Me Tight Workshop exercises and Emotionally Focused Therapy.

The intensive will cover 4 of the Hold Me Tight conversations. I will do a little teaching, we may watch a DVD of a couple together, and you will do exercises with my help as a therapist assistant.
