Meet Sugar

To help provide calm and peace, Evelyn has a hypoallergenic therapy dog with her during sessions. For those who are uncomfortable with animals, Sugar can be crated and put out of sight. No worries. However, most people enjoy her calming presence. She is very quiet and loving. She had her training as a therapy and hospice dog several years ago when she joined Evelyn’s family. At that time, Evelyn had an elderly dog who could not be alone. He, Fritz, clung to Sugar’s side every minute until he died. Sugar gladly was his pillow. She knew her job right away. After that, Evelyn decided to have her certified as a therapy dog so she could share Sugar’s love with the office. Sugar also is involved with the Ohlone Humane Society program called “Read to a Dog.” The kids love her.
